For immigrants in the United States, it is imperative that he or she follows both federal laws and local laws. This is because failing to do so could have major consequences, such as deportation. This is especially true for people who are in the United States with a temporary visa. Its also not unheard of for a legal permanent resident (Green Card Holder) to have his or her status revoked and deported back to his or her respected country. That is not to say that breaking any law will lead to deportation. It depends on the crime. There is a big difference between getting a speeding ticket and committing fraud. In any case, it is the immigrant’s responsibility to make sure they follow all laws. An entire family could lose their status, if a crime happens. We encourage you to consult with a legal expert ( lawyer) and never deal with it on your own.
